My Friend's House

Eliza Butts & Elijah Tackett
Eliza Butts / Mardi Gras Ball 2026 Royal Court

For Eliza and Elijah, Franklin isn’t just where they live — it’s where their story began. They first met at Franklin Bridge Golf Club, where a three-year friendship grew into love. After two and a half years of dating, Elijah surprised Eliza with a trip to Copenhagen, Denmark — a place she once called home — and proposed there in October 2025. Elijah has a deep heart for mentoring young men, something he lives out daily through his work at Franklin Bridge Golf Club. The mission of My Friend’s House deeply resonates with both of them, as it allows Elijah to extend that same stewardship and encouragement to another part of the community. To Eliza and Elijah, this event is more than a fundraiser — it’s about ensuring that every young man in Franklin has a safe place to call home. They’ve seen the powerful impact of My Friend’s House through the work of friends like Donnie, Kevin, and Chris, and love its mission of creating a safe present and securing a strong future for the young men it serves. Eliza and Elijah are honored and excited to be part of something so special as they kick off this next chapter of their lives together.

About Eliza Butts & Elijah Tackett
Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, Elijah Tackett moved to Nashville a decade ago and quickly made his mark in the rental car industry, working his way up to District Manager. Eventually, he decided to pursue his lifelong dream of playing professional golf — competing on mini tours for over two years before transitioning to teaching the game full time.
Now a Golf Professional at Franklin Bridge Golf Club, Elijah is known not only for his skill and dedication to the sport, but also for his ability to connect with people. Whether on the course, in the clubhouse, or around town, Elijah’s welcoming personality and commitment to others make him a valued member of the Franklin community.
When he’s not teaching, you’ll find him outdoors — mountain climbing, rock climbing, or hiking with Eliza and their dog, Cope. He’s currently on a mission to complete all 58 of Colorado’s famed “Fourteeners,” having summited 35 so far.
