About Andrew & Kayla Butts

The year 2025 will be celebrated as a major milestone for the Butts family - a whole decade of living in Nashville! Having spent her entire life growing up in Valdosta, Georgia, it was in 2015 that Kayla made the move to the Nashville area to attend Middle Tennessee State University with a dream of working in the music business. Shortly after her move, she and Andrew began dating long distance while he was finishing up school in Indiana. Long distance didn’t last so long after all, as it was just shy of six months into the relationship before Andrew followed suit and moved to be closer to Kayla. In Spring of 2018, Kayla began an internship at an artist management company, which in turn, led to a full-time job upon graduating college just one year later, working in music publishing. She is now the Senior Director of Creative/A&R at River House Artists which has served as the key instrument in development of hit music artists such as Luke Combs, Austin Snell, Knox, Hudson Westbrook and more. When Kayla isn’t working, she is either planning her next house project, taking a boxing class or watching another cringey Netflix show that Andrew hates.

After moving to Nashville from the small town of Brazil, Indiana, Andrew quickly moved up the ranks in the hospitality and service industry, helping open and run companies such as Top Golf and West Haven Golf Club. In May 2019, Andrew asked Kayla to spend the rest of her life with him, and in September of 2020, the two married. It was in 2021 that Andrew decided to make a career pivot and switch to outside sales. He is now the Area Sales Manager at US Brick, selling brick and stone to residential and commercial builders in Nashville and the surrounding areas. When Andrew isn’t selling, he is most likely at the golf course, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs or making another parlay bet on a team he doesn’t even pull for.

Andrew and Kayla are new to the My Friend’s House community. They have attended the Mardi Gras ball the last two years, thanks to the generous invitation of Kevin and Jennifer Hacker. It has been through attendance to the ball that they have learned how important it is to keep My Friend’s House thriving, as they not only meet immediate needs in crisis, but they empower young men to rebuild their lives and move forward with hope, despite the cards that life has dealt them. Andrew and Kayla hope to continue to seek opportunities to volunteer and minister to the young boys that My Friend’s House looks after and spread the word about the good that this foundation is doing within our own community.
